◦˚⋆About us! ˚⋆

Welcome to our little family shop rooted in the heart of Los Angeles, California

How It All Started

My mother (Wendy) has always been incredibly crafty. When face masks became a necessity during COVID-19, she quickly realized that most face masks were uncomfortable, too tight, or didn’t fit our faces well. On top of that, she also disliked the waste created by disposable masks. So naturally, she looked for a solution on her own.

When she finally created a mask that truly fit right, it sparked a thought: maybe we weren’t the only ones frustrated by uncomfortable masks. With that thought, we decided to open up an Etsy shop and list a few of our handmade masks. What we didn’t expect was how quickly our small idea would grow. Since 2020, we've added a combination of new passions such as jewelry making, crocheting, and creating other small gifts. Alongside our handmade items, we also began offering a curated selection of products created by trusted artisans and small manufacturers.

Through it all, one of the most meaningful parts of this journey has been watching strangers appreciate my mother’s craftsmanship. It makes me so grateful to see how crochet pieces she once made only for our family are now being loved and cherished by people all over the world. (and even if she's a little shy to admit it, it also fills her cute little heart with joy!)

With all of this being said, this shop has supported our family through incredibly difficult times; from helping us cover rent during COVID-19 to contributing toward our college education. It is because of this that The Happy Note remains more than a business for us; this shop is also a blessing and a shared dream between my mother, my younger sister, and me.

♡ Why This Shop Matters to Us

This shop holds a special place in all 3 of our hearts because every purchase you make directly impacts our lives. As a small family business, we do everything from brainstorming ideas at the kitchen table to testing, adjusting, and perfecting new designs through trial and error. We pour so much love, time, and intention into the crafts we make (and select), so knowing that our creations find a place in your home means the world to us.

However, if purchasing isn’t something you can do right now, we totally understand. Every small action - like engaging with our posts, sharing our website, or even mentioning us to someone who might love our crafts are all small actions that can help us more than you know. (actually, this helps all small businesses - not just ours!) We value every form of support, and we’re truly grateful for you no matter how you choose to support us.

Thank you for being part of our story.

- The Happy Note

✧ Looking towards a bright future!

As we continue to grow, our long-term goal is to give back to our community. So many people have poured kindness, time, and encouragement into our journey, and we hope we can pay that generosity forward. In the future, we plan to support local programs, donate a portion of our proceeds to organizations, and uplift others the same way people have uplifted us.
